Legal Fund

1. There is hereby created the "WVSPS Legal Fund", which shall be maintained as a separate account by the treasurer.

2. The purpose of the WVSPS Legal Fund is to provide financial assistance in situations involving legal or legislative matters of broad and general concern to the surveying profession as deemed appropriate by the Executive Committee.

3. The WVSPS Legal Fund shall not be used to support legal or legislative interests primarily of personal concern or of a nature which are within the normal legal or legislative activities of state societies, such as amendment of registration laws, statute of limitations, etc.

4.  A committee composed of three members of the Executive Committee appointed by the President shall evaluate requests for allocations from this Legal Fund.  As deemed appropriate, the committee shall seek advice and consultation from such other committees as may be concerned with the subject matter of the request for fund.

5. The Executive Committee shall have authority to release the funds in such amounts as it deem appropriate, if all members of the committee are in agreement, may authorize the use of the fund consistent with the above policy considerations.
