Jared Wilson receives 2016 WVSPS Surveyor of the Year Award

Flatwoods, WV – Jared Wilson received the West Virginia Society of Professional Surveyors (WVSPS) 2016 Surveyor of the Year Award during the Society’s annual convention February 18-20 in Flatwoods, WV. It is currently the Society’s highest honor and he shares it with many others that have gone above and beyond to serve the profession of surveying in the state of West Virginia.

Jared earned his Bachelors of Science Degree from East Tennessee State University in 2001 in Engineering Technology and Land Surveying before going on to obtain his Masters Degree in Engineering in 2002. Currently he is a Licensed Surveyor in West Virginia and has been an active member of WVSPS since 2010. Since joining WVSPS, Jared has been a highly active member serving as President of the Society in 2014 as well as chairing the Education and GIS Committees. He has been teaching at Glenville State College as Professor of the Land Resources Department since 2009 and has been tireless in his efforts to recruit new students into the field of surveying. Jared Wilson lives in Grantsville, WV with his wife Sheila and young son.
