Position Title:  Licensed Surveyor

Description/Qualifications/Requirments: The ideal candidate has experience with Maryland State Highway contracts and potentially other MDOT modal projects. You will be expected to manage projects and supervise and direct most any type of survey conducted in Maryland and Pennsylvania including ALTA, plat preparation, and construction stakeout. You will be joining a team of surveyors working on both private and government projects. Prior experience working with Top Con GPS, Carlson Survey, AutoCAD/Microstation is a plus. Position Title: Surveyor

Company: Mead & Hunt

Location: Charleston, WV

Mead & Hunt, a nationally recognized professional services consulting firm, is seeking a highly motivated surveyor. This position will work mostly independently and will conduct surveys throughout West Virginia. Responsibilities include leading day to day field operations; writing proposals; reviewing survey plats and legal descriptions; operating robotic total stations; performing courthouse research; conducting topographic surveys and boundary surveys; and construction site staking. This position requires heavy lifting and working outside in a variety of conditions on a regular basis. Travel to construction sites throughout the state is an essential function of this position; a valid driver’s license is required.  Extended hours and overnight stays may be required.

Description/Qualifications/Requirements: The successful candidate will have an associate degree in land surveying or civil engineering and at least 10 years of relevant experience OR a bachelor’s degree in surveying or civil engineering and at least 8 years of relevant experience. A Professional Land Surveyor license in any state is also required.

The ideal candidate will have any/all of the following: familiarity with data collectors and/or robotic total station; experience with GPS devices; experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D and/or Land Development Desktop; experience conducting topographic and/or boundary surveys; experience conducting courthouse research related to surveys; construction staking experience; experience performing survey work independently.
