Updates for Upcoming WVSPS Board and Chapter Meetings
On behalf of the Board of Directors I wanted to give you, the membership, a brief update on how the current global pandemic has and will affect the Society and our interactions with one another in the upcoming weeks. As of this writing, President Trump has cautioned against any face to face gatherings of more than 10 people, immediately impacting Chapter meetings around the state as well as the quarterly Board meeting in April.
I am sure that as Licensed Professional Surveyors, in our regulatory responsibility to the safety, health and welfare of the public, we would not consider calling or attending a Chapter or Board meeting at this time. However, we know that the world, our profession and our society cannot simply stand still and wait until the crisis is over. Therefore, we will be offering each Chapter and the Board the option to hold Zoom video conferences in lieu of their face-to-face meetings for the remainder of March and through April.
We will be making information for how to connect to these online meetings soon and I encourage each of you to participate during this difficult time of social isolation. In my personal opinion, if we are going to tolerate these restrictions on our life, liberty and pursuit of happiness I say go big and get it over with as soon as possible. It is my hope that we will be back to our normally scheduled activities as soon as possible.
Be safe and be happy,
Bill Orsinger, L.S.
