WV County Surveyor Elections Quickly Approaching

To all WV Professional Surveyors,

As a member of the West Virginia County Surveyors Association, I urge each of you to place your name on the ballot for the office of County Surveyor for the 2020 election. After the 2016 election, our state was well short of the 55 positions required by our state Constitution. Our current group of 31 County Surveyors should be applauded for their professional pride and for answering the call to civic duty. The registration cost is minimal ($10), but the registration period is not long (12 days) and is rapidly approaching:

Monday, January 13 through Saturday, January 25

Again, I urge you, as a professional surveyor, mark that day on you calendar, put your name in the hat and make sure your county is represented. When someone asks you why you’re running for a job that doesn’t pay anything, just answer as I do, “The State Constitution requires it and I’m proud of what I do for a living!”

For information on how to be added to your county’s ballot, please visit your local County Clerk’s office.

Thank you,

Jack R. Booda, PS 2088
County Surveyor of Fayette Co.
