The West Virginia Society of Professional Surveyors (WVSPS) recognizes the dedication and excellence in the surveying profession through its annual awards program. We are pleased to announce that nominations are now being accepted for the 2026 Surveyor of the Year and Surveyor Technician of the Year Awards!

Surveyor of the Year Award
The WVSPS Scholarships and Awards Committee invites all Society members to submit nominations for the WVSPS 2026 Surveyor of the Year Award. This award is currently the Society’s highest honor, given annual to a Society member who has gone above and beyond to serve the profession of surveying in the state of West Virginia.
Nominations should be submitted through the WVSPS 2026 Surveyor of the Year Nomination Form. Please submit nominations no later than January 1, 2026, by 6:00 PM EST.
Surveyor Technician of the Year Award
The WVSPS Scholarships and Awards Committee invites all Society members to submit nominations for the WVSPS 2026 Survey Technician of the Year Award, which recognizes an outstanding survey technician’s commitment and dedication to the field of land surveying.
To be eligible for this award, nominees for the award must meet the following criteria:
- The survey technician must be a present member of WVSPS.
- The survey technician must have been employed in the field of land surveying for a minimum of one year prior to nomination.
- The survey technician must have demonstrated competence in the practical elements of land surveying, and must demonstrate a desire to continue his or her professional development in the field of land surveying.
- The survey technician must be nominated for the award by an active or retired professional surveyor who is a Class A or Class R member of the WVSPS in good standing. A detailed factual written biography must accompany the nomination.
Nominations should be submitted through the WVSPS 2026 Surveyor Technician of the Year Nomination Form. Please submit nominations no later than January 15th, 2026, by 6:00 PM EST.
